THE LITTLE DETAILS

A few things
parents ask.

Starting preschool is a big step. We’re here to make the little details easier.

Ask Monica a question
How do I arrange a visit or enrol?

Contact Monica on WhatsApp or by phone to book a visit or request the online enrolment form. To enrol, upload your child’s birth certificate, your ID, proof of address, and your child’s immunisation / Road to Health card. We will contact you to confirm the place.

How does the free trial week work?

WhatsApp Monica to arrange a free trial week, with no obligation to enrol. Before your child starts, we discuss their routine and needs, then share updates at collection as they settle in.

What does a typical day look like?

07:00 – Welcome play 07:30 – Breakfast 08:30 – Morning circle, songs, phonics and counting 09:00 – Learning activities 10:00 – Snack and outdoor play 11:00 – Creative and sensory activities 12:00 – Lunch 12:30 – Rest and quiet reading 14:00 – Afternoon activities 15:00 – Snack 15:30 – Free play 17:30 – Collection ends

How are meals and allergies handled?

Breakfast, lunch, and two snacks are freshly prepared on-site. Discuss allergies and dietary requirements with us before your child starts, and include them on the enrolment form so we can agree on a suitable plan.

How do I pay, and what notice is required?

Fees are payable by EFT or cash at the start of each month. We require one calendar month’s written notice when withdrawing a child. There is no sibling discount.

How do drop-off and collection work?

Sign your child in and out at the gate. Only people on your authorised collection list may collect your child. Tell us in advance if someone different will be collecting.

More parent questions
What should my child bring for outdoor play?

Please send a hat each day. Staff apply sunscreen before outdoor sessions, check play equipment, and adjust outdoor time to suit the weather.

What happens if my child becomes ill or is injured?

We contact you if your child becomes ill or is injured. An unwell child rests in a quiet, supervised area until collection. Medication is administered on a parent or guardian’s written request.

How do you support toilet training?

We work with parents to keep toilet training patient and consistent at school and home, following each child’s readiness.

How do you assess readiness for Grade R?

In the final year, we introduce Grade R-style activities and carry out a school readiness assessment. We discuss the results with parents and offer guidance for learning at home and choosing a school.

Will you support a child with another home language?

Children hear Afrikaans and English through songs, stories, conversation, and play. We work with parents to support children from other language backgrounds as they settle in.

What happens if an educator is absent?

A vetted relief educator steps in to maintain staffing coverage and the maximum ratio of one educator to 10 children.
